Please find below the latest news on UK PACT‘s first project in Colombia to finance for climate change.
The Colombian Fund for Non-Conventional Renewable Energies and Efficient Energy Management (FENOGE, under its Spanish acronym) was established to address the issue of lack of access to electricity that still affects 6% of the population in Colombia. Now, with the UK Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s programme for International Climate Finance -UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions)- FENOGE funds are being unlocked to provide the necessary tools and frameworks to the government’s Planning Agency for Energy and Mining (UPME).
The International Climate Finance programme is the UK Government’s commitment to support developing countries in tackling climate change through responding to its challenges and opportunities. This places the UK amongst the world’s leading providers of climate finance.
